Sea Eagle

wp-seaeagleA huge bird flew out of the mist over us and landed on a fencepost. We stopped and stared.

All full of sodden wing feathers drooping down over the fencepost, its wings so enormous they seemed clumsy and messy and too big, like a teenage boy who hasn’t grown into his awkward body and doesn’t fit anywhere comfortably.

Then it yawned its wings out, lifted up and off, and disappeared again.
